The U.S. Senate approved a 60-40 short-term funding bill to end the federal government shutdown and sent the measure to the House for final approval.

I’m not a conspiracy person but it is an odd combination of Democratic Senators caving: mainly people retiring or not up for re-election until 2028. Moreover, Democratic leadership seems to accept them breaking rank without any consequences or even serious critique… 🙄

I think that these 8 Senators are falling on the sword for Schumer and other Senators who wanted the shutdown to end. This allows the majority of Senators to save face; and only retiring or not up for reelection Senators take the heat.
