Shares in chipmaker Nvidia fell after the announcement by the Japanese investor, and other tech shares also slipped. In its latest quarterly results, SoftBank said it had sold its Nvidia stake for $5.8 billion in October, as it doubles down on its bets on OpenAI, the group behind the ChatGPT chatbot. It also reported that second-quarter net profit more than doubled to 2.5 trillion yen (£12.2 billion), driven by valuation gains in its OpenAI holdings.
