This is fucking outrageous (and already debunked by Ed Martin of all people). “Gait analysis” is not admissible in court unless it’s corroborative evidence, not your only evidence. There are tens of millions of people with the same gait, which itself is subject to numerous environmental factors.

I worked in video analytics. We did gait. You can't get 94% confidence of gender, let alone specific identity, from gait alone. Any individual human has wider variance in their own gait than that.

(With that said, you are right, we should be solving the problem of developing robots that developmentally learn how to stand up on their own because then we would get the standing upright and walking with a dynamic gait parts for free)

I honestly think we do ourselves enormous damage by joking about Russian technological advances. This is a genuinely groundbreaking moment and one we should all take a moment to recognise; a humanoid robot trained to perfectly mimic the gait and coordination of Dmitry Medvedev flawlessly.
A Russian company presented the country's first (per TASS) humanoid robot equipped with AI today; it didn't go very well. (The soundtrack is spot-on though)
