January saw the release of The Asteroid No. 4 EP Tremble. The Oakland rock band went on to release a full album later in the year, but this was my introduction to their sound. Easy to see why they were tapped to open for the Black Crowes.

The year kicked with some killer releases, including this LP from Bodega! In January, King Dream gave us Glory Days Vol: V. Recommended tracks: "Wild Card" and "Golden Shore".

Back in January, Oakland newcomers Still Ruins released their debut self-titled EP, offering 5 original dream pop tunes that sound right out of the 80s. Easily one of my favorite local releases this year.
