At this elementary school Halloween parade the most common costumes are (1) KPop Demon Hunters (Probably 1 in 4 girls has a KPDH costume), (2) Harry Potter (3) Superheroes - Spidey, Batman, and Captain America are most common, and (4) Pokemon - mostly Pikachu, Charizard, and Ash.

I recreated Ash and Goh’s room from Pokèmon Journeys in Animal Crossing New Horizons!

Given the limitations, I did need to take some creative liberties but I got Pikachu and Scorbunny in there so I think it’s a success overall. Even got a bit of Goh’s personal room in there.

The Pokémon would stage a rebellion much like Spartacus in ancient Rome. Although at first glance Pokémon appear to be friends with humans, they would realize they're actually being used like slaves, which would lead to an uprising. Pikachu would become the leader of the revolt and end up fighting with Ash. Team Rocket, who are in possession of lots of sinister Pokemon including Meowth, who can translate the Pokémon language into human speech) would try to mediate the conflict, but they'd do a poor job of interpreting and only make things worse...

I'm often a last-minute costume guy using stuff that's already at home. Today Maddie handed me Ash's cap and asked if I could be a trainer (she's an Eevee), so I grabbed a bomber jacket I fit in again after years, a Quick Ball toy from the kids that clips on my jeans, and a Pikachu plush. Aged Ash.

collage of 10 games that i consider important to me surrounding a picture of ash ketchum and pikachu from the pokémon anime (since i use ash as a profile pic here instead of showing anything resembling my personal appearance! sorry but privacy is neat!). anyways the games are: xenoblade chronicles 2: my favorite video game, despite itself. just a pivotal, important experience in 2017 when things felt real bad globally and when i started living on my own paper mario: one of the treasures of game rentals for me as a kid, my main experience with mario beforehand was super mario 64 (which we'll get to) so this story based expansion of the world with charming characters was delightful. my intro to rpgs outside of pokémon. mega man legends: really fun world to explore and cast of goofballs. an anime indiana jones, which makes sense since it's just castle in the sky with mega man characters. definitely the first time i cared about The Lore of a game super mario 64: the first video game i rolled credits on, and the game to play on my n64 since the pack-in dk64 was Not It for me! still really fun to play today, highly recommend learning a scuffed 16-star route to gain more appreciation for the movement ace attorney trials and tribulations: ace attorney on the ds was very important to me but this one is The Classic that culminates all the plot points of the trilogy. finishing 3-5 late at night was a roller coaster pokémon soulsilver: got a gameboy for blue and learned to read thanks to it, silver became my favorite for being More, and soulsilver is such a lovingly improved remake tokimeki memorial: watch the tim rogers review and load up the sfc fan translation kirby super star ultra: original game is why i love sakurai as a developer, additions are the start of good modern hal labs sonic mania: sonic 1 was my first game, 2 was my favorite, mania melds it all into The Best tatsunoko vs capcom: the fighting game that made fighting games click for me (and check out old anime!)

I love that millennial parents still have whimsy. I saw so many families tonight where the parent clearly let the kid pick what they wanted to be and then the parent matched them. Also I am biased because Leo is pikachu and I’m Ash. Damian is a monster truck and Jairo is a driver.

Pokémon Doujinshi "Rescue - Revenge on Ash" -- Chapter 3, page 20: Misty tries to convince Ash she'll be fine. He would have to leave her behind no matter what. Her foot is hurt, so she would only be a burden for Ash and Pikachu. Ash can't believe she would think he would leave her behind. He insists to stay by her side. Although Misty still tries to send Ash away, she silently blushes, obviously overwhelmed about his reaction. Pokémon Doujinshi "Rescue - Revenge on Ash" -- Chapter 3, page 21: While Ash and Misty discuss eagerly (Ash is even crying now), Pikachu suddenly sits behind the two, his eyes worried. Ash gets alarmed immediately. If Team Rocket finds Pikachu here, they will once again catch him and take him away from him. But Pikachu insists to stay with Ash and Misty. While Ash says seems to be beaten in that fight, he says with a Chibi face Misty would have have a bad influence on him. Misty therefore just grins victoriously, Pikachu even giving her a victory sign with his paw. Nonetheless, Misty comes back to the topic, asks Pikachu to stay at Ash's side, when they will run away together without her. Pikachu isn't happy with this decision, the same as his trainer. Pokémon Doujinshi "Rescue - Revenge on Ash" -- Chapter 3, page 22: Misty requests to have a promise between the three of them: No matter what happens, she wants to see them again. Her hand therefore lies on the glass wall that separates her from Ash and Pikachu. Immediately, Ash lies his hand also against the wall. It looks now Ash and Misty would touch their hands. With still a bad thought about this, Ash finally turns away from Misty, starting to run away, leaving her behind. Pikachu screams at him, following him, seems obviously to judge him by his screaming like "How can you do that? You can't leave Misty behind!" Pokémon Doujinshi "Rescue - Revenge on Ash" -- Chapter 3, page 23: Ash knows, Pikachu is right. He doesn't want to leave Misty behind as well, but he doesn't know what is right or wrong at the moment, so he simply wants to fulfill her wish. But both of them don't come a long way. All of a sudden, Wheezing and Lickitung are in their way, forcing them to break up their runaway. When Ash turns around in shock, James and Jessie with their Pokémon Arbok and Victreebel are standing in front of Misty's cage of glass - and there is a foreign Mr. Mime sitting on top of it, looking angry at Ash's direction. Jessie blames Ash for his runaway and for abondoning "his twerp girl".

Pokémon anime headcanon:
Pikachu was meant as Gary’s starter Pokémon, Professor Oak wanted to humble his cocky grandson by giving him a starter that didn’t listen.

Four trainers showed up that day, Gary was there when Ash arrived, meaning Gary would’ve been fourth had Ash not been late.
