hey so what if we constructed a p2p overlay on top of atproto to pool downloads of recent-ish versions of repos between organizstions trying to backfill data?
Like, basically just bittorrent but we track individual mst blocks by repo/cid so you can get partial trees.

Fair, though that feels firstly like a failure of BitTorrent client interfaces to me.
The fact that no one wants to Computer is a much bigger problem that is also the same problem as "no one likes learning because their experience of school is abusive."

And that’s a) kind of hilarious, but b) entirely sensible. Cos that’s how branding and IP works and it’s amazing that none of these corporate digital idiots seems to understand the concept of ownership at all, just because Napster and Limewire and BitTorrent drove them insane at a formative age.
