How to manage feeling rejected/abandoned:

Look at the overall. 'The big picture'.

Yes, this person said this one thing that makes me feel like they still haven't understood my boundaries, my BPD, my feelings, and my fears.

But how's the overall relationship? 👇

Something people don't talk about when it comes to #emotionregulation for #BPD:

It's so difficult to *remember* that you can choose not to react.

Here's a cool 5-step #bpd technique for when your feelings are too loud

1. Name your feeling (hurt, sad, angry)

2. Where did it come from? (Identify the trigger)

3. "Is there another way to view this situation? What would a third person say about this?"

#Bpders, how do you find healthy ways to express emotion?

I've found that strong emotions often signal that I need to reflect on something.

First up is identifying the trigger/ source of the #emotion!

But in the moment of a strong emotion, how do you respond to it? Before reflection.

Emotion regulation is not about controlling what you feel. It's about choosing how you respond.

Wise people don't suppress emotion. They find constructive ways to express it.

Intense feelings don't always demand immediate reactions. They often benefit from deep reflection.

I’m currently in a space… where I feel like the black sheep….

But I think its cause I hhave the tendency to feel like everyone dislikes me for being weird…

You need to turn emotional excess into creativity, it'll save you so much time and energy:

Think of negative thoughts, spirals, and inner narratives of blame and criticism as excess energy.

And when there's too much input, you need to expel that energy. 👇

The #BPDvoid or chronic feeling of emptiness often has us leaving one thing after the other.

We're constantly searching for excitement and novelty.

What would it look like if we could stay committed instead?

Here's how:

That's the best part. You don't have to be one thing. If you feel empty, do more of what you love.

And the void expands to make space for you.

For once, it accommodates you and doesn't suck you in.
