Allowing students who have been assigned to math remediation to have their remediation be in something other than algebra can significantly increase remedial math completion, especially if a corequisite remediation structure is used (remediation combined with a college-level class): buff.ly/HSWDy10

Middle Georgia State Univ. had already had success adopting a corequisite, vs. a prerequisite, remediation model, but they wanted even better student success, so they added multiple types of support to their coreq classes, with a large increase in pass rates: buff.ly/Rz8CFUM #AcademicSky #math

I think either formal or independent study of the trivium (grammar, logic, and rhetoric) and the quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, and music) should be a suggested prerequisite or corequisite to the study of magick. The more one understands the universe on all levels, the better, I think.

CA community colleges are adopting corequisite courses, as they reform traditional #DEVED. Corequisites CAN work, but RFA's 5-year study shows mixed outcomes in CA. Why? Variations in implementation & barriers like registration & unit load are factors.
