#ERA-NET
I think our current era of manga faithful reboots is a bit overrated but if there's one benefit to a new Ranma anime, its less Happosai which is a net positive for humanity

Just a reminder that Europe, a country that got rich over 250 years thanks to oil, gas and coal, has signed up to "net zero" within a generation. Yes, you can focus on some fudging of interim targets on the way to zero, but I really think that's missing the era-defining change that is under way.

Well, the net result of not learning that concept are a public who believe in genetic determinism, Victorian Era race categories and confusing binary for bimodal. 😔

Also, he was ridiculously beautiful in an era which had a larger-than-average share of beautiful pop stars (even allowing for the Aqua-Net dependent hairstyles)

That’s the other part that‘s so dumb. FDR era is no biggie. Most that would EVER happen would be a safety net and more people able to vote. There would be SOME accountability but they would still be super rich and we would still be way beneath them. It’s easy to keep Americans from revolting!

What's really happening is billionaires like him, and the big banks and financial institutions he pals around with, are reading some very ugly tea leaves and abandoning the climate promises they made as recently as 2021

Joe Walsh has: opposed the existence of a social safety net, supported extension of Bush-era tax cuts, proposed a border moat filled with alligators, supported total Israeli annexation of Palestinian Territories, and called LGBTQ+ people “constitutional terrorists.”

Don’t listen to Joe Walsh.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇

Very high net immigration is bipartisan (duopoly) policy, and has been for 20 years. It was introduced by Howard-Costello in the 'baby bonus' era (2004), and has been continued by every government since. Why? Partly because of economic 'terror' at the perceived consequences of a falling birthrate...

Out of the 4 tracks on Disquiet, the new 3h+ album by Australian improv jazz trio The Necks, Ghost Net is the longest (1h14min!) as well as by far the best. Never letting up, it serves up a mixture of their older-era jamming and their current drone-laden, almost modern classical tonal explorations.

Post you from a different era

Back in university, I wore a hat all the time, my hair was shorter and I loved blowing bubbles all the time. Life was good. Not long before that, I had shaved my head for a military-themed outing with my student association club (dispuut). This is over 15 years ago.

with BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA being out now, in a lot of ways I think as a film RTTT is less 'solid', less 'engaging' in comparison, probably because the former was made for theatres rather than being a 4-episode net anime, but in everything it stands for, I adore RTTT so so so much more

This “blame democrats” account is defending non-voters who didn’t have their group mentioned on stage, or didn’t have their entire demands list met while facing fascism.

Assholes like this helped a dictatorship take hold with their Victorian-era voting principles.

Sound effects're very prominent in Aim for the Ace, though I think this's at least partly to do with the era, not this show specifically.

I've met the same thing elsewhere, & there're accounts from the period that discuss this.
