#Fossilizers
The transformation is almost entirely partsforming and it’s not especially satisfying, but the mastodon mode is cool looking, and I appreciate there’s more color to it than some of the other fossilizers. I’ll need to see how it works armoring up other Transformers

Since it’s National Fossil day, here’s some Fossilizers to celebrate it.

In his robot mode, I like Paleotrexs' skull mask with the robot face underneath. Also there's Skytread wearing Paleotrex!

Transformers collection pro tip: For a more authentic presentation of your Fossilizers, have them fall behind a tall shelf for a sec.

Finally, Masterdominus, a figure I think I like more in theory than in practice. Making fossilizers out of animals other than dinosaurs is a good idea (where’s my trilobite transformer Hasbro?) but in practice this resulted in retooling a guy that turns into a triceratops into a mastodon and I dunno

can’t believe it never occurred to me to put fossilizers on the bludge

It feels like whoever has been designing Fossilizers-style stuff was set free to do as they pleased. They look great.

54. kingdom vertebreak
don't have a whole lot to say about this one, but she's still a cool figure. the bone dinosaur aesthetic gives some extra personality and the darker colors feel accurate for a predacon. find ourselves associating her with the fossilizers even though she doesn't come apart

don't necessarily expect the other Fossilizers any time soon; i don't own their figures and they're probably hard to gather good 3/4ths reference for. i could MAYBE do a 'retool' to turn this design into Spindle, but again, no physical reference would make that a lot trickier.🧵[11/12]

Headcanon thing for most Fossilizers: not very smart. They aren’t quite Dinobot level dumb, but their brains are a bit dull as a trade off for feeling less pain and being able to convert into weapons and armor. The one exception is Vertebreak, who I see as the small commander of the bigger ones.

I understand what you mean for TF themselves in actual fiction

But if they made these they would just be collab toys, they wouldn't be involved in any lore any more than the recent fossilizers were

They would just be neat toys just because

While they aren't Transformers fans I've been sharing some of my recent #deskbot photos in a little group chat with some IRL friends, particularly the fossilizers as one of them really likes them, and today another of the three has said that Wingfinger here is their favourite I've shared so far :)

Realized listening to the twincast that I'm excited for the post-skybound era when hopefully we'll get a chance at characterization for the fossilizers, junkions, and rock lords. Like some artist will eventually be inspired by them and put them in a comic.

On the topic of random nobody Transformers, the person who had the idea of Fossilizers deserves a promotion.

Transforming robot fossils with interchangeable parts are a work of art. Too bad we never got the smilodon and the crocodilian.

How dare you talk poorly about the fossilizers!

My fossilizers have arrived. Two of them anyway. They have no show or comic to define their personality so the task falls to me.

Wingfinger (left) admires Cybertronian Ninjutsu, but refuses to seek training as he is a skeleton and a devout Methodist.

Ractonite (right) desperately wants real hands.

Last thought on the haslab: I think this brand team is really struggling to build excitement. Everything they've done post-warden (please do not take this as praise of warden) has been let's grab this old figure and make it more articulated excepting Unicron and fossilizers.

Daaaamn....really diggin' this. 😀

This is what makes the Weaponizers, Fossilizers, etc. so cool...and fun. 😎

dinobots were initially a team of grey, red, yellow dinos (with grimlock de facto leader) though name has been used for other characters/toys since - if you're looking for recent dino toys, look up the Kingdom fossilizers! not currently on shelves but very fun, modular, and with some decent variety
