Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy (HIE) is a lack of oxygen to the brain that can cause injury, and affects four in 1,000 births. The charity PEEPS HIE supports families affected by HIE.

Today is the 1st #HIEawarenessday #HeardofHIE for @PeepsHie. HIE is one of the most common forms of newborn brain injury and @neoLAB_UK @UCLmedphys we’ve been studying it for years. My brother suffered HIE at birth and has lifelong disabilities. Still an excellent uncle though:
