Wrote about the new Uk’mek Trail built just for mountain biking in Kejimkujik National Park last year for Saltscapes Magazine, and enjoyed it so much, I rode it again this fall for the colours by the Mersey River.

I worked at the Tourist bureau in Fort Lawrence (as people enter NS by car) and I had people from the States record me staying different NS town names. Tatamagouche, Kejimkujik, Musquodoboit... it was a long video!

All frontcountry trails at Kejimkujik, as well as Kejimkujk Seaside, will reopen as of 4 pm tomorrow (Friday, September 19).
Please note that Kejimkujik's backcountry remains closed until further notice. A full fire ban remains in effect.

New Scotland is one of the most beautiful places in the world come autumn, from Kejimkujik (one of the darkest places on earth amazing for star gazing)… to the Annapolis valley, all the way up to the Cape Breton highlands… Nova Scotia is basically a forest and it’s beautiful.

Pretty good. Kinda feel like I worked away my whole summer, and the woods/fire ban has kinda put a damper on things, but overall doing ok. However, we did Gros Morne national Park, kejimkujik national Park, and we're doing Fundy national Park in a few weeks as well.

Parks Canada has closed backcountry camping at Kejimkujik National Park as of 12 p.m. today due to potential fire risk and instituted a full fire ban (This includes campfires, charcoal barbecues, stoves in cabins and picnic shelters, and any open flame (e.g. candles))

Keji, wisely imo, has a fire ban
FIRE BAN -- Effective immediately (July 28), a FULL fire ban is in effect at Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site. No fires are permitted at any time. This also applies to charcoal BBQs (including public ones at Merrymakedge Beach). This fire ban includes ALL open fires, EXCEPT the following are allowed: portable gas-powered fire pits* = gas-powered stoves and barbeques designed for cooking* gas-powered lanterns (enclosed flame) * *provided they are under direct supervision and CSA-approved Friends of Keji Cooperating
