#Multiplexor
If I moved the library to a shared area of memory all programs cud use and had some mechanism for programs to call its functions, THAT IS A SINGLE TASKING OPERATING SYSTEM

(A multitasking OS is just that + a resource multiplexor)

That could have made for a much simpler sprite multiplexor. 👍

I hadn't thought of the MSB sprite x-coordinate that can be skipped over, because it's so rare for a game to be designed that way.

The only other example I can think of .. isn't great .. it just isn't. I don't recommend it.
😊

In this video I look at #Commodore64 "Defender", the Atarisoft version. An early efficient sprite multiplexor, finding the mountains data, comparison to arcade hardware, and dynamic characters used for the player bullets/lasers.

In this video I take a look at #Commodore64 "Smash T.V.". The very nice intro sequence, large sprite sheet scroller, large sprite logo, bitmap software sprites, and an efficient early update multiplexor.

In this video I take a look at #Commodore64 "Speedball 2". The nice animated intro, game bitmap and text screens usage, just in time multiplexor, and delta decompression.

Other addons to the Engine :
Added a sprite multiplexor - for weather effects mainly , there were situations where 80 sprites were not enough.
Improved DMA routines and timing, now transferring up to 212 tiles per frame which will come in handy for the L1 Boss.

In this video I take a look at #Commodore64 "Ikari Warriors". The very widely used disk loader, dynamic character effects, strong "late update" multiplexor with consistent sort ordering, and bullet software sprites.

En un cas tens un multiplexor de 32 entrades de 32 bits :O i en l'altre tens 5 multiplexors, un rere l'altre. El temps de propagació de la segona opció deu ser catastròfic.

I see Blusky has encoded this to 30 FPS, thats a shame as the rain doesn't come through as good as it does on a 60 hz video . The rain is flickered in alternating positions at 60 hz to cover the full screen.
I may yet run a sprite multiplexor for this, for now its doing the job pretty well however.

Por fin me ha llegado el cable conector para poder usar a la vez el controlador del agitador y el multíplexor del potenciostato. Ahora a comprobar que todo funciona y a sacar medidas como churros automáticamente ole ole.

Ideas for a next generation text editor (Acme replacement):

1. Keep the Acme UI, but add rows, not just columns. Potentially make each window a full multiplexor (like rio(1), not 100% sure about this).

2. Make it multi-process/multi-machine again (like Sam, but better).

You don’t need that 10 year-old multiplexor you have been saving, “just in case”. Just get rid of it.

All that old equipment is obsolete.

Move on

I look at #Commodore64 "Enforcer: Fullmetal Megablaster" Developed by Manfred Trenz. There are lots of dynamic characters used for the stars/snow/particles and also parallax scrolling. The multiplexor gets a workout. There is a lot of unrolled speed code for colour scrolling.

[checks notes] Yep. it's the multiplexor on the VIC-II side. Can cause all manner of weirdness on screen when it dies. 🙂

The two that I was thinking of when I was on about apparent PLA faults (that aren't the PLA) are U15 and U27.

En electrónica sería un multiplexor, en físico un embudo y cerebralmente una selección de inputs.

My tech support line for vaporware futurism products is now up. Will answer questions like "Why can my 1941 Westinghouse Brain-O-Wave decoder only communicate with calico but not tuxedo cats? Is it a bad feline frequency spectrum multiplexor vacuum tube?"

I'm only annoyed about this because I prefer the "mux" pronunciation (like the abbreviation for "multiplexor", or the archaic verb meaning "to make a mess of something" as in "Mx. phy really muxed this post).
“Mx.” is now in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

YAY!!

BTW - it is pronounced "mix"

Este es el circuito. El ráster Y recorre la ROM, fila a fila. Con el ráster X se serializa cada fila, usando un multiplexor 3-1, generándose la señal de vídeo, que se lleva al circuito de refresco para mostrarlo en el display 3x3
