this is giving me the confidence to eventually move my desktop over to nixos. some things i'll want to do before then:

oh my god nixos-anywhere is incredible once i figured out how to mount more space on the install usb it just installed everything and all i have to do now is log into my services

Look into sbctl, sbsigntools and efitools (although nixos probably does it completely differently because it's nixos)
