Definitively teach the difference, @tavoer8.bsky.social. Also, in some more "objective" disciplines, even the notion of reflection is rather alien. I find that in mentoring some #SFHEA & #PFHEA

A4 Depending on the discipline and module content, the assessment ( #formative and #summative) can have a section about reflectivity. But first, teach the difference between #reflection and #reflexivity (I found it difficult to understand as an international PhD student) #LTHEChat

Wonderful, Louise. I mentor colleagues through @AdvanceHE #SFEA & #PFHEA. In some disciplines, the notion of #reflection comes quite easy, but in others, not! Even writing in 1st person singular is tough for some!

Not at all. I’m a PFHEA and despite a struggle with the process, I found it greatly affirming. But there’s certainly some writing on teaching that that’s somewhat formulaic and this would likely lend itself to AI. Academics are so pressed it’s a rational response.

Great session yesterday to launch the Yorkshire and North East PFHEA network. A though provoking talk from Sam Elkington, about the importance of networks for leadership, and some limitations of a project based approach. Thanks to Lorna Hamilton and colleagues for organising!

That meeting was one of the major turning points in my career - have just got my PFHEA and I talk about that meeting a lot in my reflection! First time I (i) found others who thought about education like I did and (ii) had forged academic careers with an education focus. Genuinely life-changing

News: Today is my last day at University of Hull. I arrived 9 years ago as a junior lecturer, and leave as a Reader in Bioscience Education, NTF and PFHEA. It has sometimes been challenging, but I’ve also been blessed by fantastic colleagues & students who I will miss very much

Today I have been writing references for colleagues’ applications for FHEA, SFHEA and an advocate statement for PFHEA.
Such a privilege to read their work.

Pleased to have got this through last week!

AFHEA in 2019, FHEA in 2022 and now SFHEA in 2024 - the trend suggests PFHEA is on the cards next year…? 😂
