#RSS-Feeds
Something I observed while manually reviewing every single site on personalsit.es:

Websites built with Next.js very rarely have RSS feeds.

Websites built with React sometimes have RSS feeds.

Completely static sites almost always have RSS feeds.

I have little special knowledge, but I have a stupid amount of RSS feeds and site monitors going. I’d don’t ring the cannabis alarms very easily or often, but I’m kinda good at my job. This shit swung around in the last two weeks, after years of waffling.
all the big hemp interests are freaking out, what a time to be alive

Alright, who have you got in your RSS feeds? I only have a few and I’d like more. Ideally the feeds where you genuinely read every single post they make.

Molly White would be in this list but I consume her stuff via podcast instead.

What's stopping you from reading the #dataengineering newsletter and the latest blog posts like this?

These are my RSS feeds in the terminal on the left, and the feeds (queries), their URLs, and configs on the right.

From the NetNewsWire blog about version 6.2:

"…there is one new feature of potential interest: we’ve added support for Markdown in RSS feeds."

Micro.blog feeds also now support Markdown in RSS, for any blogs updated starting today. If you haven’t edited your RSS feed, you’ll get it automatically.

apparently you can still read RSS feeds from an old Sony Ericsson phone if you insert a working SIM card

only plain http ones work though, since the certificates have expired a long time ago and I don't know how to import up to date ones

a return to RSS feeds where "thought leaders" posted to their blog once a day, maybe, and there were no comment sections would be kind of awesome for me.

One day someone will make RSS feeds for Something Awful’s forums… someone more skilled than I!

I wish more people would set up RSS feeds, for how easy it is.

I am, objectively, one of Patreon's biggest success stories and one of the biggest creators on the site. Yet with the *single* exception of introducing private RSS feeds for podcasts in, I think, 2019, *every single* change they've made has affected me negatively.

Websites went downhill when they stopped having RSS feeds.

it feels like bluesky still has barely made any penetration with international journalists.

even if they should move still think it's important to to try to follow them and you can use xcancel.com + RSS feeds to not even visit the site directly.

It's not a follow-up comic, but a follow-up talk and I mention ways to get feeds for sites that are less RSS friendly https://jpawlik.com/blog/09/26/11015/

If I've learned anything from feedback here and elsewhere today, a lot more people use RSS feeds than I thought which is incredibly awesome and a bit relief for me personally.
