So then why did she opt to homeschool? That's literally indoctrination by Evangelical Christians, unless she either unschools (so... illiterate kids) or creates a curriculum from scratch. Meanwhile Evangelicals generally keep their kids out of public schools at all costs.

True, for us it was both a financial and covid mitigation decision. Plus we are very rural, which makes preschool options harder, there are so many wait lists. I am very pro-curriculum, whereas my older sister unschools her eldest child. Which I would never do, but that’s me.
