It’s insane to treat the filibuster as the most sacrosanct.
Article 1 power of the purse, oversight, and war? Nah.
Emoluments clauses? Bribery prohibition? Meh.
Criminal law? 14A? Doesn’t count.
But maybe the Senate changes a rule it has multiple times before? Gasp! Not that. Anything but that.

In Trump’s second term, the need for congressional action against corruption has never been clearer. Our latest report offers recommendations for strengthening the vital anti-corruption safeguards in the Constitution’s Emoluments Clauses: bit.ly/3XdgCaq
Codifying the Constitution’s Emoluments Clauses
To prevent corruption, the Constitution prohibits the president and other officials from receiving untoward benefits. Congress, however, must take action to enable enforcement.

The Supreme Court is doing bad things for gay, lesbian, and bisexual people, too. But, they are — at this point — far more likely to be in the form of exclusions, exceptions, and differential treatment under the free speech and religion clauses.

DC WORKER WIN: GW Hospital and The Hill Preschool will pay $127,000+ for subjecting workers to illegal stay-or-pay clauses.
Stay-or-pay clauses force workers to pay for training costs if they leave before the end of their contract term.
They cheat workers, hurt competition, and violate the law.

(Somewhat related: I went to a jobseeker/networking event last night where a participant in a different industry insisted on the inevitability of AI, regardless of industry, refusing to believe I often sign contracts with “No AI” clauses and work in industries that despise it.)

Ayuuuuuuuup, I don't sign any contracts these days without robust anti-genAI clauses that bind both parties. (And clauses exempting the anti-AI clauses from any confidentiality clauses, so I can talk about and share the anti-AI clauses.)

Picked up a Terry Pratchett book at the library and skimmed a couple pages. Struck by the ridiculously long & complicated sentences, just miles and miles of clauses, but perfectly comprehensible upon first read. Incredible command of language.

I don't think that is an issue. You could even integrate the UK fully into the Single Market with guillotine clauses if London messes around without it affecting much if Farage wins. It's only a problem if the UK is a full member, which is why it shouldn't be one

is there any variety of Arabic that handles relative clauses ("the man who went to Damascus") and content clauses ("i thought he was drunk") the same way? iirc the division between the two is fuzzy in Hebrew and Aramaic
the word اللي lli, usually a relativizer (الزلمة اللي هون l-zalame lli hōn "the man that's here"), has a weird alternate usage: منيح اللي جيت mnīḥ lli jīt "good that you came"
i was proud of the og idea in the 2nd pic - BUT what prob actually happened (3rd pic) is so cool
(forgive clunky writing!)

The thing about Ukraine and Russia is that there are actual clauses to suspend elections in times of national emergency written into their constitutions
America doesn’t, never has, and attempting to do it by fiat is a good way to figure out just how fast Virginia DAR grandmas can build a tzompantli

I dunno. Rick Scott has, ahem, unique insight into defrauding government healthcare spending so there's probably some key clauses he'd want to get in there which he wouldn't trust a chatbot to get right.

Macros come in two types
Scalar - use in SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, etc.
