IMO Hack is a D Tier language.

It's actually not all that bad as a language itself but with basically zero ecosystem outside of Meta I see very little reason for anyone to pick it up.

If Hack seems to fit your needs - PHP is almost definitely a better option.

Every Slack client has a persistent websocket connection to Slack servers to receive real-time events. At the app's start, it fetches settings from the web app backend, the Hacklang codebase that hosts all their APIs.

i want to take a closer look at #hacklang, meta's php alternative
it's got good types
it's got speed
i use php at work, so i know how to do the things.
