My mum asked me about my new collar. I explained as best I could & she asked if it was like an engagement ring. It's sm more than that. An eternity collar stays around my neck 24/7. It means a commitment to each other for eternity. We aren't having a traditional wedding either, handbinding instead💕🎀

8. Handbinding books. I did this for a while then stopped because I was accumulating too many, but I think I should do some more. It falls into the "really satisfying craft" category. Really I just like Crafts. I love the satisfaction of holding a finished product and knowing "I made this".

I googled my own poetry book from 2019 to retrieve the link to the publisher’s page and found out that US amazon sells it! (well, via a Brazilian store, so shipping is a bit steep)

It features an open book on a light-gray surface. The book is wider than it is tall. Each page features one poem. This book was typeset using a linotype Intertype press. The pages are an ivory color and the text is black, in a serif font. This is a poetry book and the title is jamanta na testa. Glossing, jamanta is a big truck, and testa means forehead. Jamanta na testa means something like a big truck on the forehead. This book was written by Maíra Mendes Galvão, a Brazilian poet and translator. It was hand-bound and the cover features the title written in bold capital letters and the author’s name below, both set in movable type, in a dark navy color on an orange background. A horizontal-striped divider shaped like a bar divides the title from the author’s name. The latter is written in all lower-case bold type, sans serif. The handbinding is visible on the left side. The stitching is in an orange color on a dark blue spine. The paper used on the spine is also the substrate to which the thick cardboard cover is glued. The orange paper that is also just the one-color background of the cover is glued to the outer side of the cardboard.

Ideally a zine should cost like $0 to make cuz you printed it on your work printer and used boss man's dollars on the hour :P I even think that the hand-made aspect of DIY zines should be valued more over the $50 fandom megazine-artbooks :P Shouldn't something handmade be more expensive than something mass produced by a printer 3000 miles away? 🤔But the core of a zine should be accessibility of price and information so that both the maker and reader can make and read things easily, and that's why DIY zines outside of the fandom definition often go for $5 or free. Anyways. yeah. rambling. Everyone, staple two pieces of paper together and call that a zine!!! Don't wait 8 months for a printer in China to cancel on you because the shipping ends up costing $5000 over your budget! Your budget could actually be $5 or $0 or best offer!! TF2 GORL SCOUT ZINE BUDGET! Overall the price is $349 for printing the zines and the stickers and the postcards and the shipping materials and shipping prices including free shipping to all contributors. The goal is to make $649 to compensate $20 to each contributor (15 overall).
