Amazon Timestream now supports InfluxDB 3
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now offers support for InfluxDB 3. Now application developers and DevOps teams can run InfluxDB 3 databases as a managed service. InfluxDB 3 uses a new architecture for the InfluxDB database engine, built on Apache Arrow for in-memory data processing, Apache DataFusion for query execution, and columnar Parquet storage format with data persistence in Amazon S3 to deliver fast performance for high-cardinality data and large scale data processing for large analytical workloads. With Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB 3, customers can leverage improved query performance and resource utilization for data-intensive use cases while benefiting from virtually unlimited storage capacity through S3-based object storage. The service is available in two editions: Core, the open source version of InfluxDB 3, for near real-time workloads focused on recent data, and Enterprise for production workloads requiring high availability, multi-node deployments, and essential compaction capabilities for long-term storage. The Enterprise edition supports multi-node cluster configurations with up to 3 nodes initially, providing enhanced availability, improved performance for concurrent queries, and greater system resilience. Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB 3 is available in all Regions where Timestream for InfluxDB is available. See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/timestream.html for a full listing of our Regions. To get started with Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB 3, visit the https://console.aws.amazon.com/timestream. For more information, see the https://docs.aws.amazon.com/timestream/ and https://aws.amazon.com/timestream/pricing/.

Progress! The externally powered Pi now connects to WiFi and sends readings from its built-in temp sensor to the queue. Node-RED monitors the queue and echoes messages to a different queue.

Next: setting up InfluxDB to save readings; experimenting with the TP4056 for eventual battery power mode

Just gave myself a crash course on #influxdb when root partition on #grafana server pinged at 94%. Turns out db was set up for infinite retention. Oouf. Altered it to 30 days (thank you #stackoverflow) and got it down to 17%. Love learning new stuff!

tu queria implementar armazenamento de time series sem usar um backend externo tipo Prometheus, InfluxDB e tal?

isso eu nunca fiz, tava lendo agora que o pacote tsdb do Prometheus permite fazer isso :)

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDb now supports Storage Scaling
We are excited to announce the launch of storage scaling functions for Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB, allowing you to scale your allocated storage and change your storage Tiers as needed. With Storage Scaling, in you few simple steps you have greater flexibility and control over your time-series data processing and analysis. Timestream for InfluxDB is used in applications that require high-performance time-series data processing and analysis. You can quickly respond to changes in data ingestion rates, query volumes, or other workload fluctuations by moving to a faster more performant storage tier or extending your allocated storage capacity, ensuring that your Timestream for InfluxDB instances always have the necessary resources to handle your workload and cost effectively. This means you can focus on building and deploying your applications, rather than worrying about storage sizing and management. Support for Storage Scaling is available in all Regions where Timestream for InfluxDB is available. See here for a full listing of our Regions. To learn more about Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB, please refer to our user guide. You can create a Amazon Timestream Instance from the Amazon Timestream console, AWS Command line Interface (CLI), or SDK, and AWS CloudFormation. To learn more about compute scaling for Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB, visit the product page, documentation, and pricing page.

Technically you can use it right now. It is open source, but we have plans to change things up so expect some rough patches, but if you want you could build from main and try it out today, it does what it's supposed to: store time series data and make it queryable!

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB Adds Read Replica support
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB Adds Read Replica support
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports Read Replicas, enabling customers to scale their read operations across multiple instances and Availability Zones. Customers can activate a Read Replica via the AWS Marketplace from the Timestream AWS Management Console while creating a Timestream for InfluxDB instance. Adding Read Replicas allow customers to support higher read throughput by distributing read requests across multiple database instances while maintaining a single write endpoint. This helps customers meet the demands of read-intensive workloads, such as real-time analytics and monitoring applications, and improve application performance and availability. Customers can create a Multi-AZ Read Replica cluster with just a few clicks in the AWS Management Console. Support for Timestream for InfluxDB Read Replicas is available the following Timestream for InfluxDB Regions: US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Milan), Europe (Paris), and Europe (Stockholm). To learn more about Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB, please refer to our user guide. As others have said more cost effective and flexible to do it yourself.

Here’s mine - cost less than £1000, 16TB usable storage with RaidZ2 and 60W at full pelt, 25W idle.

Runs homeassistant, plex, backup server, influxdb, Teslamate and more.
