This module is available to all #Forensic, #Chemistry, and #Physics students in their first year and those coming up from #FoundationYear, and focusses on looking at science from an interdisplinary lens, and understanding the importance of community engagement.

At #KeeleUniversity we approach #ForensicScience from an interdisplinary and collaborative approach. For example, some recent student #research combined #ForensicBiology and #ForensicChemistry to look into the impact of temperature and oil levels on decomposition.

For a junior researcher who already got a PhD, interdisplinary work could be of big merits. But from the "education" point of view, it would be a huge burden for both teachers&students

Dr Booker does incredible work in the archival, relocation, and #repatriation of indigenous remains, as well as vital work in interdisplinary #research and #education in #ResearchEthics and #DataScience.

Which makes me ponder, should we be focusing our #scicomm more on social sciences like sociology, etc? OR even better, #interdisplinary approaches?

Interdisplinary approaches are a part of how we #teach and do #research at Keele Forensics, including what we encourage and facilitate for our students' own research. A recent example is Michael Gameson's work on developing a method for detecting joint replacements in the field.
