I asked ChatGPT:
"We recognize that “artificial intelligence” is not neutral, not magical, and definitely not our friend. AI systems are built from stolen labor, stolen art, stolen writing, and stolen data—often scraped from independent creators, zinemakers, and librarians without consent..."

I'd definitely read a fiction where the librarians know the place is haunted because books keep moving around at night. The ghost is quite helpful now that it knows the shelving system, *most* of the books end up back in the right place. The Bible keeps landing in Fiction, though.

It is definitely a different mindset.
We've integrated with council services, and it's the mindset differences that were most obvious. (And, that librarians don't sit as much! Much more physical work.)

I've done thirteen in the last three weeks and I'll do at least two more before the semester is done.
I think there are definitely some composition instructors who are reluctant to give up the class time to librarians, but for the most part, they understand that good search is a teachable skill!

Precisely.
The sign had a particular causation agent, I’m sure, but the next urinal water connoisseur is very unlikely to read *any* signage, as you correctly point out, which is a fact any librarians (all of whom definitely will still keep hope alive by making signage) will freely tell you.

There is definitely no risk of harassment built into this, nope, definitely not
Absolutely haven't seen librarians impersonated already because of stuff like this, now made all the more likely and all-but-endorsed

These books are definitely calling #teachers #parents #librarians and most of all #children. Take some time today to read to a child.

Maybe, but husband is a teacher and I'm noticing that the education realm isn't as anti-AI as we are. There is definitely a "learn to embrace it" attitude among a lot of educators...and even librarians. ☠️ Maybe not most, but definitely a good sized minority. #kidlitchat

like, hi i'm a librarian but i don't believe in books! though there are definitely librarians out there (i'm looking at you heterodoxxers) who don't believe in some pretty basic information literacy principles so i guess it's not as uncommon as i'd like.

Oh, you’re definitely still a card carrying member of an elite team—librarians embrace all—but, if you try a cardigan for a few days, they’re hard to resist, given versatility & endless style choices.
I used to resist, said they were for middle-aged men…one day realized I was of that age…tried, hooked

“A professor at Drexel University’s law school, told me that when she speaks with research librarians—looking for recent studies on, say, “birth mothers and their emotions after relinquishment”—the librarians will tell her, “There’s nothing.”

Thanks for your thoughts! They are the three head librarians, who are also the family's aunts. Do you think capitalizing Head could help? Definitely not three-headed 😅

As a former school librarian, I really enjoyed this episode. Definitely a recommended listen for school librarians because it's VERY affirming. All librarians should consider sharing through their social media channels so people can start to understand what it means to be a school librarian. 📚

Yes definitely -- but I have heard librarians say there is spare money, but they aren't sure what they can spend it on and whether it can be spent on open infra and diamond OA.
But agree, the competition from APCs/BPCs is always a problem...

Librarians are "definitely running into some of these psychosis and other mental health issues, and certainly seeing the people who are more widely adopting it also being those who have less digital literacy about it and a general sort of loss of retention." 📚
Librarians Are Being Asked to Find AI-Hallucinated Books

Librarians are probably itching to smack you with a newspaper for sorting the books by size. ❤️
Also Hulkachu? Awesome.

Absolutely. But sales go up in the fall, and librarians put it on display in the fall . . . Have you seen Hannah Barnaby's THE PUMPKIN SEED'S SECRET? Not really Halloween, but definitely fall--and there is a jack o'lantern at the end.
