I loooooooooved Spinal Tap II. It was so funny and, yes, nostalgiac, but honestly it worked for me so well even beyond that (I’ve always liked the original but I’m not a superfan or anything)

I think that's a good thing. Rockefeller and Carnegie are names that evoke opulence and a sort of nostalgiac fantasy of the 1920s. Who would want to visit "Musk Center" or "Musk Hall"?

I watched a video on CVD discs from Technology Connections yesterday and now I am nostalgiac for an era that never existed, movies on huge disc caddies that you loaded in with a *clunk* for movie night
Cassette style futurism where computer accessories are not only powerful, but also small enough, and thermally efficient enough to slot into the front of your PC like an old school cart, while ports on the back can be swapped.

maybe its just because chunky 3d is the graphics I'M nostalgiac for vs 16 bit style, but im happy that wiggly-vertex crispy-textured big-shapes are now getting their 2nd round of parades

The fascists, by using a nostalgiac vision, can even point to something that once-was and is generally agreed to have at least kinda-sorta existed. The 1950s did happen! I lived much of my life in a house built in 1958. There were occasional material reminders of that period in old bookshelves.
