Yeah I didn’t start collecting until the 00s so I definitely don’t know from first-hand experience, but luckily I’m a lot of people’s “hey you’re into comics right??” connection and I end up being gifted old shortboxes of comics they don’t know what to do with 😅😅

I basically did this and it works great. I've used magazine-sized "shortboxes" (like longboxes, but shorter) for mine. Smaller boxes make them easier to move around.

i collect rpg magazines, they get bagged and boarded like comics and stored in cardboard shortboxes. ultimately i'd like to move everything to plastic shortboxes, cardboard degrades over time and is hard to keep clean. i use BCW brand supplies.

People didn't treat this like Chris Claremont signing literal shortboxes of books. Not really. I saw people pore through tables to buy things, and you didn't just... ask for an autograph on its own. Every once in awhile there was a suggestion sign for the Hero Foundation though.

Ik heb 2 shortboxes ongelezen comics voor me op tafel staan. Ik denk dat ik Fall of X maar even oversla en begin met Gail Simones Uncanny X-men reeks die vorig jaar begon. Dan X-men van MacKay en Wolverine van Ahmed. Dat zijn bij elkaar al 36 comics, maar die kan ik dan bijhouden als er nieuwe komen

The main shops barely controlled chaos most of the time (we have literally millions of comics) but if you like to dig through shortboxes and longboxes it's paradise.

Shortboxes, but not alphabetized. I try to put things together thematically, so all the Batman titles are in, well, like a dozen boxes. But then I will have a box with, say, DC team books. I just find that more satisfying.

sadly entered the "comics guy" life properly by buying 3 'shortboxes'. Those random issues of early Wildstorm comics deserve better than being carelessly piled up in my room!!! Now, they get to be carelessly placed upright in a box so I don't have to see them!!!

I've got like 4 shortboxes full of comics that all came from the 50¢ boxes at conventions and I had $20 burning a hole in my pocket... Just now occurs to me I should probably read some of them 😅
