Today I saw red russet leaves, ground adorned in golden tones.
Of those that had already fallen in a slow graceful dance.
Silently making their way
to lie at their feet.
Nourishing earth, their voices quieted by a sweet melody.
Only they can hear, as she softly sings them home.

I’d wear my pink woollen #raincoat on days that either promised rain or temps were so cold I needed its insulating warmth to keep from turning blue.
Pyjamas under thick corduroy pants and a hand knitted jumper
I’d stuff my hands deep into my coat pockets as
I trudged the muddy path to school

We’ve had winds off n on mostly on since Spring started, next week the heat arrives big time so hopefully the winds will drop. At least then I can complain about the heat and not the heat AND the winds 🤭
