We really enjoyed seeing how you all see Oregon's special working lands during this contest. We received submissions from around the state, so thank you for showing us your photos!
Our runner up is Jurgen Hess, who sent in this great image of farmer David Brewer in his wheat field in Wasco County. We loved how Jurgen visually connected farmer and farmland while showcasing the wild hills in the background.
Paloma take home our grand prize of a new #Tamron 18-300mm all-in-one zoom lens and a pair of Portland Timbers tickets for the 2026 season. Huge thanks to @tamronamericas.bsky.social for sponsoring our grand prize, and to the @portlandtimbers.bsky.social for adding the cherry on top!
Congratulations Paloma Ayala for winning our Working Lands Photo Contest! She sent this image of an orchard in Mosier, and said: "I’ve been capturing images of these orchards from various angles for the past 15 years, which has deepened my appreciation for their changing seasons and natural beauty."

“This is one of those innovations whose time has come,” says Gil Kelley of @1000oregon.bsky.social.

But we will be working with advocates to build back housing programs that keep Oregonians in their existing homes, prevent homelessness, and preserve existing affordable housing.

For now, we're celebrating wins and planning ahead. We hope you'll continue to join us in these efforts.
While HB 2138, HB 3031, HB 3145, and SB 51 will make a difference, our work isn't done! Funding requested for some of these programs was reduced and, in addition, the legislature failed to provide other funding necessary to keep many Oregonians in the housing they already have.
