and I feel like Kote senses that Rika's reluctance to stand out is also from self deprecation. if Kote okays that, Rika will spiral. so he's trying to pull him out of his shell. it's like Rika gained an annoying older brother who ended up helping him be a better fighter anyway LMAO

it's even more interesting seeing their recollection and the two's sparring dialogues as one set. Rika doesn't want to do singing and dancing? okay, then Kote will slip in coordination lessons in their sparring sessions. and Rika can't say anything against it because it DOES benefit his fighting

My current impression of Kurikara Gou is he's the one friend who will call out on Kote if he wronged, he's less lenient on him and is blunt with words but his filial personality means he can't ignore him so he gives harsh but true advice specifically to him

I got to see Kyoto Samurai Boys for the first time and also my 2 TKRB saioshis perform on stage!!!

if you want artists to make weirder art, you have to create stable living conditions that allow them to. homogeneity isn't a matter of artists lacking culture-- there are many soulful artists out there-- it's a matter of unregulated corporate dominance combined with artists who cant afford to create

i think rather than "make weird art" it should be "make art from the heart and don't let "but it's weird" stop you from making it", because "weird" is subjective, cultural and immaterial but sincerity can always be felt
