Happy #InternationalDayforBiologicalDiversity! My upcoming #MGLit novel (that I can't shout about quite yet...) features this important topic of protecting species diversity and balanced ecosystems. 💚

STAR SAILOR: THE STORY OF WORDS is such a fun introduction to etymology! It prompted great discussions.

Written by Sara Cassidy, with gorgeous art by @whatwouldjuliedraw.bsky.social, and published by @orcabook.bsky.social. #IReadCanadian #kidlit 📚👍
cover of STAR SAILOR: THE STORY OF WORDS shows an upside down astronaut with an open book; streamers are coming out of the book with words and pictures on them; the background of the cover is space with stars, a planet, and a spaceship; author and illustrator name are in the lower right; the picture is taken with the book in my hand over a teal patterned rug

Love this haiku, Beth! Interesting! I have a print of his The Beasts of the Sea on my wall. I like his style.

Love this frog party! 🐸

Thanks, Beth! There were leaves falling in my periphery while I worked in the garden, and then one leaf moved differently and I realized it wasn't a leaf! And it made the day better. 😊

Leaves fall from dull skies.
Fluttering breeze stills, nudges,

photo taken from the ground looking up; the top right portion of the photo is gray sky and the bottom left portion of the photo is goldenrod, New England asters, and blurry tree tops a bit further away; a monarch is in the gray sky portion heading toward the flowers

Yes, I couldn't put it down. 😊 Oh, that pumpkin patch...I just knew something was going to happen! So well done.

Sure, thanks for reposting, Beth!

I think the author/illustrator team Veronica Agarwal and Lee Durfey-Lavoie who created the graphic novel JUST ROLL WITH IT (anxiety/OCD rep) live in NYC. (I know there isn't consensus about whether anxiety or OCD should be included under the neurodivergence umbrella, but...I think they should be.)

SCATTERGOOD by @hmbouwman.bsky.social is one of the best books I've read this year! Such an authentic and nuanced discussion about the existential questions that I suspect many of us share. Lovely cover art by Angie Kang. Thanks for the recommendation, @pollyf.bsky.social!
#kidlit upper #MGlit 📚👍
cover of SCATTERGOOD has a light orange (as if sunset) background; the top left corner is a chess board pattern and these squares morph into a flock of birds in flight as they continue down the page; the bottom shows a girl in a blue dress walking to the left on a lane towards a large building with a few lights on inside; there are trees/bushes on the sides of the building; the book title and author are above the building

Of course! I love it! 😊
