We spent the night at the ER. My poor little Squeaky is having a time with this illness as her vet & I try to find the best medicine to work for her. It's been a rough month for us & I need some assistance offsetting these vet bills if anyone can help & donate. 🔗 In bio and below.

So far no ghosts or spirits. I've only had folklore creatures. HOWEVER! My next planned book is a Golden Age of Hollywood haunted house. I'm excited to dive into the ghosties.

All this panicking with my senior cat over the weekend and running to the vets between work shifts made me forget to pay the electric bill.

Luckily it only was shut off for 10 hours. Also lucky it's not too hot today. 😅😅😅

Thinking about my favorite review for my debut book. The reviewer also said I wasn't Charles Dickens. Yeah, bro. This book isn't 900 pages long. But anyway, apparently I had too many five stars.

Sorry not sorry. I'm good at my job.💅

A 1 star review for THE NIGHT BEGINS. "DNF on, like, page 20. Are her friends reviewing this? I no I personally reserve five stars for absolute classics of all time, and that's not everyone's method but... Five stars for this book? Really?!"

and here's a static cover reveal post for people who want to skip the book trailer and/or hate videos! cover art by Lucy Rose

THE LORD OF THE WOOD releases in July 2026, from @hanoversquarepress.bsky.social! #author

preorder now: gatheringvolumes.com/item/44euZQq...
the cover of E.M. Anderson's The Lord of the Wood, framed in gold with gold flowers against a dark teal background around the edges. The cover is teal with a stag of flowers and foliage growing from a twisted tree with flowers growing around it and black ooze dripping from a branch overhead. the title "The Lord of the Wood" is in large white serif text to the left, with foliage growing through the letters closest to the tree, and the author "E.M. Anderson" is in all-caps yellow text at the bottom. the tagline, in smaller yellow text, reads, "Even a beastly woodland protector needs saving..." "When lonely clockmaker Arthur Throckmorton loses his way in an enchanted forest, he meets the hero of his childhood bedtime stories: the Lord of the Wood. But instead of the mythical figure of his dreams, the Lord of the Wood is a grim man turning into a beast and losing power over a dying forest. If they can’t save the forest before he becomes a beast completely, Arthur will lose the man he's falling for—and never see his family again." Text is in a textbox against a murky image of a forest, with the cover of E.M. Anderson's The Lord of the Wood below the text, all against a dark teal background with gold curlicues in the corners. The cover of E.M. Anderson's The Lord of the Wood on a dark teal background with golden leaves overhead, surrounded by yellow text reading: plant magic; sentient forest trying to oops! murder people; intensely homoerotic shaving scene; the one who heard the stories and the one who was in the stories; hopeless romantic who's clueless about his own sexuality; Beauty & the Beast inspired by not a retelling; dual-POV brother/sister; love interest turning slowly into a beast; wound-tending.

I think I have! Project 1 has expanded beyond the outline I originally wrote. Both my projects were meant to be novellas but with this one growing, I've been able to brainstorm more nuanced ideas.

Project 2 is designed to have my first HEA so I think that will resonate a lot.

No they don't! I'm definitely one of those people who will not prolong suffering but let me at least try the prescriptions first. Damn
Plus she was sitting up, talking, and watching all the other dogs without panicking. Not really a final stage behavior. You know?
abigailtaylor.bsky.social
It was pretty rough. The ER vet guilted me for keeping her alive because I couldn't afford 3k overnight stay & sonogram. Even after I explained the dehydration & that we were waiting for meds we just had prescribed on Sat. I'm so heated. I just want her feeling good & get fluids.🫠😭

Trick's story is about 40k words in. So I've got his start figured out.

Thorton's book I'm waffling on. There's the scene where a stunt goes wrong on set OR the party where she hooks up with Clark Gable. Both are interchangeable & connected. So it's down to figuring out how the pacing.

Project 1
Trick's naivete, his father, & a literal swamp monster stand in his way.

Project 2
Thorton's arrogance & stubbornness are going to be her biggest hurdles, followed closely by her employer's stalker & vengeful ghosts.

I just want to say that the artist for my novel is amazing. I told @localkate.bsky.social that Delah was physically inspired my my grandmother, presented the physical descriptions & 👏she 👏ate👏 that👏.
A picture of my grandma as a teen standing in front of a school bus. She is a tall, indigenous woman with curly black hair and is wearing a turtle neck and a peacoat The back and front illustration of Maryneal 1962. The back shows Hardy Diggs wiping blood off his mouth. The light is showing his bones are not human. Delah, the protagonist is below a movie marque with the book title. She is covered in blood and reaching out to the reader.

Project 1:
Trick needs to let go of the idea of parenting his parents & learn he's not responsible for their actions.

Project 2:
Thorton needs to start trusting others, even if she doesn't believe in the paranormal. She needs to learn to respect people who view the world differently.
