I did my first author visit to a library today! Another thing to tick off my list. Answered lots of questions and talked to some awesome librarians. That's a win.

Today I had an epiphany. I can save myself extra work by editing my audiobook in the same place I'm recording it. I can rerecord and parachute in lines over mistakes when I want. Take that brain fog!

One of the hardest parts of writing is thinking I've not made any progress after finishing a daily chunk of work. The lack of ability to see beyond the next sentence to the big picture over time. That's where I think writing challenges hold value.

Today I hosted my first reading live stream instead of a writing one. I still ended up talking about the writing style choices in the book. Reading as an author myself I'm not sure I can ever switch the critique part off.

I'm attempting to record one chapter a day, then edit it the next using my existing streaming set-up. It gives pretty good quality results and I can turn it into a video experience. Much faster than aiming for the standards of traditional audiobook stores. My vtuber model will be reading it to you.

Today I used a tipp-ex mouse for the first time in years. A blast from the past!

I've started daily free writing exercises by hand in a notebook I got on my birthday. A page a day! I also got a book token and bought a light novel.

There's my ideal version of the process, then reality including: shoe-string budget, equipment, skills, profitability, perfectionism, goals & my chronic illnesses.

Conclusion: pick your battles.
