Visibility on Te Ahumairangi was pretty poor and Hauraro was whipping the blossoms off the trees this weekend so I picked all my remaining tulips and brought them inside to brighten up the day.🌱🇳🇿 #AotearoaGardens
A blossom petal is stuck to a wet window and outside everything is wet and covered in grey cloud. A vibrant bunch of red, pink, lilac and bicoloured yellow and scarlet tulips sits in a ceramic jug on a windowsill. Outside it is raining and grey with low cloud and almost no visibility.

Rhetorical question, why do we keep re-electing stale, pale, male, conservative mayors and councillors?
I'm over it 😬😕

Oh FFS. The usual fossil councillors are back Te Whanganui a Tara… plus the dreadful icecream man got in to council. What a mixed bag. But Yay! @lauriefoon.bsky.social and @rebeccamatthews.bsky.social are in!! So pleased for you both!

I’m sorry Tori. Thank you for all your mahi and your leadership during your time as Mayor. You faced A Lot and I’m very grateful that our city had you for mayor for the past 3 years. (And p.s I love your mayoral portrait!)

I’m sad, ashamed, disappointed, angry and so so let down by this Government today. Who were those 60% they polled - definitely not me.

#Aotearoabirds 🇳🇿🦜 We have a kaka who comes to visit our deck and garden bird feeder most days. Last couple of days it’s started to tap on the window and lick it to get our attention. ‘Please, kinI’ve some apple? I knows you’re in there’…

Turns out you can do a mix of Seville and Navel oranges in a Seville orange marmalade. I only had to add 3 to make up the weight too.

OK Seville Marmalade makers. Please share your best Seville marmalade recipe that doesn’t start with ‘first boil your oranges for 2 and a half hours’. But also, can I sub in some Naval oranges if I don’t have enough Seville’s? 🍊🫙🫙 #preserving #foodies

When Wellington busts out a sunny day but you’ve got a killer dead arm from your Shingrex vax, the right thing to do is sit in the sun and eat lemon sherbet doughnut right? #TGIF 🇳🇿

They were from last years lot that I left in the ground. So they’ve *chosen* to come early! Frosts are rare up on our hill so I guess they’re chancing it.

You need this stuff from Japanmart Dallas.
It goes in the fabric softener drawer in yr machine. Antibacterial and kills that smell completely. Fill the cap up to no.2 mark.
