eh, it was serendipitous to have rejected the fireplace.. reworking the room made me realize that i could make it smaller and intentionally emphasize how trapped he is (i very rarely intentionally design environments in that way, so this is sort of fun for me lol)

just realized he wouldn't be able to hear anyone fucking from the other side of a wall that's thick enough to have a fireplace in it and i'm so mad it took me this long to figure that out! he needs to be tortured by how clearly he can hear fucking on the other side of that wall,
