Right, I guess some Lib Dem has to do the "if you think Ed Davey had a point here, join us!" thing.

I won't deny that the party has its problems, but if you're here on this site you are also probably on the right side of helping with them, so...
The Women's League Cup may be mess, but it's a mess that Leicester just won in (beat LCL 1-0 - should top the group, though we shouldn't take that for granted), so at least there's that.
"Elites" is probably shorthand for "political elites", tbh
Speaking of scheduling, the midday on Sunday could be reasonable from a "you can do things later in the day" perspective except, uh. It's _Sunday_ and there are Sunday trading laws?
(also: I would be interested to know what the audience for multiview is)
Yeah, the more I think about this, the more it feels like a rather negative portent - things do definitely feel slightly fragile in the UK womens' football space.
(big missteps - like, just... not scheduling to take advantage of the men's international break _at all_ - aren't helping here)
I guess it's a good thing for Portsmouth that there is an international break in the WSL2 because... well, this isn't good.

Also, uh, does anyone know what actually happens here? The Sandwich cup is not the most transparent competition, ngl... www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2025/oc...

Yeah, it's an ACL tear. This seems to be a profoundly cursed season for Liverpool, ngl. #WSL

Anyway, on the actual highlights... how... how did Villa not score?

(I mean, props to Leicester for not panicking to boost Villa's chances, but, seriously, how?)

Tbh, my guess is that this is just... generated from the video description+title? Like, it'd presumably be part of the corpus used to generate it, but it does beg the question of why it has to get its own box to restate the same information in a _less_ digestible form.
Watching the WSL Highlights for Aston Villa vs Leicester and, uh, it's not the WSL 2 (though this _is_ on the WSL given the vid description is wrong); the attacks shown were mostly Aston Villa (and the saves Leitzig)... and _the video itself_ says both teams already have "one win apiece".
Y'know, I get why they do "Player of the Match" shortlisting/voting mid-game[1], but feels very odd when, like, a _lot_ of football happens in the last 30 minutes.

E.g. it meant Jess Park wasn't in contention for POTM against Everton this week.

[1] ... okay, I think it's press logistics, mostly.
Oh, my primary school did that (though the Pizza Express was considerably more distant)! Someone - I think possibly actually a teacher but I was, like, 5 at the time so it's not like I can remember properly - tricked me into trying olives (possibly also putting them on mine?)!
Can't say Bright retiring is a _massive_ shock, given she'd already spoken of a complete lack of Euros FOMO and a desire to focus on club football, but I still feel a little sad about it www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

From the article, it looks like the issue is more 4G/5G than telephony.
(my own Vodaphone data connection was the '!' of 'not gonna work' but I haven't tried calling/receiving a call)
JKR has, absolutely, kind of turned into a weird blend of a bunch of her female villains (which do almost all hit a particular note of _smug_ judgemental nosiness, that she subsequently decided to spend her fortune in service of).
On the one hand, if Arsenal play like they did today, Leicester might actually get something from them at the KP.

On the other hand, I will most likely be at that match (season ticket holder), so I'd have to properly watch a game where Arsenal are playing like they have today. #WSL #ARSBHA
I know, right! Genuinely had to pause to double-check her age today because of how young she looks. (I say, like I haven't had to insist on getting an adult ticket in the last year, despite being nearly 30)
A lot of the reasons Liverpool are relegation( playoff) contenders are of their own making, but wow are they also profoundly unlucky. #LIVMCI #WSL
Ngl, it almost feels like Arsenal are lucky that Brighton weren't able to get one back there - there's a few times where they've felt almost complacent in terms of the build-up and it feels like it could easily still be punished. #WSL #ARSBHA
Yeah, I honestly assumed it was, like, some sort of loanword, because I've seen it used quite a bit.
That was a perennial issue aiui? (like, something I remember a lot of people reporting at the time, probably a matter of updates breaking something but, like, lack of care rather than malice)
Okay, so, I was mostly following rather than watching, but, again... #AVLLEI #WSL
So, uh, that was very messy and I think I will take a point there thank you very much.
(I do think an issue Leicester has is hesitancy in front of goal and it was really on show today ngl) #LEIEVE #WSL
I think both are used - sometimes the "Anti-fa" folks claim "an-tee-fa" is a fash dogwhistle obscuring that it's an abbreviation of 'antifascist', but, like, I first heard "an-tee-fa" from antifascists (in a video the aftermath of the murder of Heather Heyer).
Yeah, my main feelings are "the horror of remembering what he did" and "relief that he will soon be forgotten completely, and so I won't be reminded again".
