The Swoosh was born 9 years ago in 2015, and ever since then I’ve been developing, revamping and and advancing the concept!

Sometimes its easy to loose sight of that fact, but here’s a visual of all the iterations, successes and failures that have built what I’ve done up to now #avgeek #rc
A collage of 9 versions of the Swoosh, all remote control electric foam airplanes, dating from 2015 to 2020 A collage of 6 different Swoosh designs, 4 electric remote control propeller planes, two electric ducted fan planes, dated from 2020 to 2024

This is his plane btw. Idk if Rock has room to talk about how others should or shouldn't express themselves lol

MY problem is that despite getting a definitive number on the thrust, the math on how fast the Efflux is STILL doesn't make sense!

Power = Thrust Force x Exit Nozzle Velocity, and this suggests the exit nozzle velocity is Mach 3??? Like that clearly isn't accurate right?
airheadedaviator.bsky.social
Now this suggests however that the fans are making 500 grams less thrust static per fan than what the manufacturer says, but since the inlets are designed for flight and not static, that's not too unsurprising. Perhaps other ways to improve that.

I used my advanced thrust testing stand to finally get a definitive value on Antagonist. It's pushing out an average 2000 grams of peak static thrust! At a flying weight of 1400 grams thats a 1.42 thrust-to-weight ratio

Cause if they weren't, then we would've got our boy Raditz 😔

It feels like any GT rep was post the success of the game, and pushed for after the fact. unlike the Budokai series FighterZ didn't feel like it was intended as another Dragon Ball simulator, so they really reserved on who would be in the roster

Also I realize that this is the same Avanti I saw two years ago, and is featured on my first post on Bluesky!

Been trying to decide what best to do for a first post on the new app, and I figured a photo of todays visitor at work would be the best

This here is a Piaggio P.180 Avanti, perhaps my favorite civilian aircraft. Its a high speed, twin pusher business prop, and probably reflects me most as a person
A silver and red airplane sitting on the concrete ramp of an airport. The aircraft features large, 5 bladed propellers facing reward on a mid mounted wing.

Have another Piaggio Edit, cause this plane is badass

When you log into Animal Crossing for the first time in eight months & are reminded that you make absolutely peak design & fashion choices.

My Animal Crossing avatar standing next to the town square flag pole. I’m wearing very queer flannels with a black cap and brown boots. The flag on the pole is the queer inclusion flag with a big plane in the centre.

It feels as though it can get to speed more quickly and be at speed more easily. All without any bounciness or roughness. I cannot stress enough how wild it is that adding stiffer lowering springs improved the quality of the ride over stock
airheadedaviator.bsky.social
The new springs did not make my car faster in a straight line, but it did increase the sensation of speed. Acceleration feels very confident with no unsettling. At higher highway speeds the car feels so planted, much more than before.

Piaggio edit.

I like the opportunity to shoot planes like cars #avgeek

These surfaces are controlled by the flight computer, and deflect either up or down in response to positive or negative Gs. In this way the wing will avoid being overloaded, and your aircraft avoids additional structure, weight and cost.
airheadedaviator.bsky.social
Some jets are modified with wider wingspans and winglets to extract greater cruise efficiency, but the more wing you add on a plane, the more load and stress the structure will see at all Gs of maneuver.

To avoid re-engineering the whole wing for these add-ons, these surface elements come with it
airheadedaviator.bsky.social
This is not an aileron. This is a special G load device you'll see on some Cessna Citation Jets!

Who woulda thought Union Pacific rocked some sleek Falcon 2000EXs

#avgeek
Two white Dassault Falcon 2000EXs with red trim parked side by side on a sunny day. The two Union Pacific Falcon 2000EXs from the side. They rock a stylized American flag on the tail (which I always find ironic with foreign aircraft)

At first I was done with buying Lego F1 products, but I came across this limited run Mercedes model at a steal of a price, $26. It was my birthday, so why not!
