Back in my own car, and it's staggering how different things are. In the truck I honestly just hated driving. In my Altima, I could probably be in this thing all day longer as long as no other cars are in my bleeding way.

One thing they don't tell you about getting an exhaust for your car is that the whole vehicle is now more physically alive.
The car vibrates more, communicates more with the engine. You feel the sensations in the steering wheel. Not just sound and volume are dampened by mufflers

That's super weird! So a rear drive car with unequal half shafts... does that suggest the car may suffer oversteer on launches like a front drive car suffers torque steer?
The reason that the wheels can be mounted so far forward which let them shorten the wheelbase is because there is a v-drive type arrangement in the transaxle which means that power gets sent all the way to the back and then transferred slightly forward to the diff.
