Heartbreaking. Force women to have babies and then don’t provide the support they need. The worst part is this couple tried SO hard and got kicked in the teeth.

Due to Tennessee’s abortion ban, Mayron Hollis was forced to continue a pregnancy that threatened her life. An emergency delivery left her without a uterus and her baby with medical issues.

This was their first year in a post-Roe state (pub. Feb. 2024):

Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Today I found the cutest little mushrooms EVER! They only grow on spruce cones and are like something straight out of a fairy tale.

Strobilurus occidentalis, aka spruce cone mushroom or spruce conesprout.

A friend, the wind and I on a short jaunt.

Up on the Mountain with the blue sky above, the tundra has finished its fall colors and is now turning shades of brown and tans. My black and white friend decked out in her pink regalia decided that this would be the perfect spot to showcase her sporting wear.

October in Alaska feels different this year. We've had one light 'frost on the windshield'. Still no hard frost where I live in SouthCentral. Dahlias and garden flowers blooming. Tomatoes, basil, marigolds still producing in the (unheated) greenhouse. Weather is changing. #globalwarming #AlaskaSky
