Honestly I think we can get them on pure cultural osmosis by elevating voices that look like them and have similar experiences but yeah at the end of the day, it's on them.

Yes nuking cities was and still is awful, there's no denying that.
However with the Intel at the time and the alternative of invading Japan which the Japanese military was hoping for and what the hardliners were salivating over, there's not much that could be done to end the war

The nuke discourse is so illuminating honestly, really shows who think Japan was a rational actor and who doesn't. Like sure dude the civil government did offer a surrender but the military didn't give a shit and still didn't kinda after we nuked them
