If I know one thing about parks approved a decade ago, this basically does not matter and any process is going to have to start from scratch and include extremely intensive community outreach just to approve basically the same plan that was approved originally

map of retail and restaurant openings in the last 4 quarters in Alexandria. The vast majority are in 3 areas: old town (duh), del ray, and carlyle. Only 2 openings, both restaurants, along Duke Street.

I wonder what else we could get done by calling it a study and using the magic study money

- study the impact of a new grant to the local shelters
- study the potential for a new bike lane by implementing a trial
- study the cost of better buses by increasing frequency on a few lines

it might have been an intentional effort to make more "family sized" townhomes as you mentioned. but yeah, shrinking household sizes should be a part of that convo.
