Rev. David Black, a Presbyterian minister, raised his hands in peaceful prayer when agents on the roof fired pepper balls at him, striking him in the head.

Rev. Black & other faith leaders have faced violence for nothing more than praying outside ICE detention centers.

Rev. David Black, who has since joined a lawsuit against the administration “alleging violations of the First and Fourth Amendments,” says he protests to let immigrants know “that they are not alone."

Donald Trump thinks he’s all powerful. It’s up to us to remind him on October 18th that he’s not.

We will show him who really has the power in this country — and we will do it peacefully. nokings.org

The Trump administration’s mass deportation crusade is coming at a tremendous cost: the safety and cohesion of American communities, our basic rights and dignities, and Americans’ economic security and major industries.

americasvoice.org/press_releas...
All of it underscores the tremendous costs – and misplaced priorities – of mass deportation and compels us to speak out and demand better – for immigrants, our nation and each other.

George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.

"The recent release of a number of unjustly detained immigrants shows there’s power in resistance and speaking out for our neighbors," writes @tusk81.bsky.social.

These victories send a message that the administration cannot arbitrarily detain individuals protected from deportation by law.

And more abuses continue to come out. As @tusk81.bsky.social noted, an investigation led by Sen. @ossoff.senate.gov uncovered over 500 credible reports of human rights abuses inside ICE detention, including sexual assault, denial of medical care, and the mistreatment of children and pregnant women.

In recent weeks, we have highlighted how this administration’s mass deportation obsession harms public safety — including diverting money and manpower away from actual public safety threats and active investigations and toward mass deportation.

Last night, I received notification of the 19th death of a detained person in ICE custody since Trump took office.

ICE is detaining people, mostly in private, for-profit prisons that put profit over health. And now they have furloughed the safety inspectors. This is unacceptable.
