I can’t tell you how much I love that @raushenbush.bsky.social was on CSPAN counter-programming Trump, who was on CSPAN 2 with his tired blasphemy at the National (Make a Mockery of) Prayer Breakfast.

This is one of the best reflections on religion in politics I've ever seen written by a politician.

Revives my longstanding anger that Hillary's presidential campaigns didn't make this kind of messaging and political analysis part central to their strategy: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Man, I bet the NRA is going to be furious when they hear that jack-booted thugs from the federal government executed a law-abiding citizen for exercising his Second Amendment right to carry a handgun.

Any second now, I'm sure.

He was a white guy, if that helps?

Hello? NRA?

NEW: I was one of 3 reporters granted access to the convening of 600+ clergy in Minneapolis this week.

It was a striking show of solidarity with MN clergy resisting ICE, but heralded something else: the emergence of a vast, faith-based network trained to resist ICE. religionnews.com/2026/01/23/i...

I find it hard to believe how any national religion reporter isn’t focused on the massive faith organizing against ICE cruelty.

If this was right-wing religion activism, every national news outlet would have their religion reporters assigned.

I know the Christian Nationalists take up a lot of oxygen in the religion/politics sphere but I've never seen anything like the faith group mobilization going on in Minneapolis. Houses of worship have decades of infrastructure and they're organizing to protect immigrants in the Twin Cities.

Here in Minneapolis, hundreds of clergy from all over the country have been deployed into the streets to participate in ICE/DHS watch.

The hail from a range of religious traditions, and have come from all over.

This particular group is in a heavily immigrant neighborhood.

Excellent, clarifying piece on the (real) legal pathway that Minnesota has to prosecute the ICE agent who shot and killed a woman today.

No, federal agents do not have absolute immunity from start charges, no matter what the Trump administration claims.
Wrote a piece for @slate.com explaining that states have a long history of prosecuting federal officers when they allegedly use excessive force. Federal officers are only immune from such prosecutions when they act reasonably in carrying out lawful duties.
Minnesota Could Prosecute the ICE Shooter. Trump Can’t Pardon Him.
Shortly after an ICE officer shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, city leaders began looking into whether the officer had violated state criminal law.

They are law breakers, criminals, power hungry and corrupt, causing chaos and death.
