In addition to being evil, these people are complete fucking morons.
👀 Scoop: Trump and Republicans want USPS to sell off its brand new EVs and chargers.

That would mean literally **ripping up post office parking lots** to auction off assets with no private-sector value.

It’s buried in the Senate’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Also I think the essence of the story (which his point is a big part) is that it’s hard to keep investing in a product when the initial piece is so poorly executed. If the pilot episode isn’t great and there’s no solid plan for the first season, usually the show doesn’t get picked up!
“We” as a city. The Council played a role too!
Obviously true for this moment. Although we were unwilling to build a functional network route even through better times. Funding for the Benning extension was always a political football (pun intended) even while running a surplus and before the stadium deal.
How’d this prediction age?

Hey @mayorbowser.bsky.social and @councilofdc.bsky.social let’s get the DC Streetcar and bus/streetcar lanes done as part of the Commanders deal. This will be an essential part of gameday and NE transport!
Except our farmers market eggs are only $7 a dozen!
My coach
Steve Kerr wore a Harvard basketball shirt after the Warriors’ win tonight: “Yes, this is me supporting Harvard. Way to go. Way to stand up to the bully.”
This approach mostly validates what we are doing here in DC as part of our Bus Priority program and our toolbox. I think we could do more to focus on circulation and other traffic management strategies as part of our efforts. buspriority.ddot.dc.gov

Attn fellow transit planners.
"Down with the BRT, long live the bus."

I've just published an unusually polemical, argumentative post on my Substack explaining why I think Bus Rapid Transit is a failed planning concept.

No mention of climate change either?
Not a single time in this article glorifying the need for sprawl to address the US's affordable housing crisis is there a mention of the vast transportation costs of sprawling living patterns. Nor is there mention of the fact that sprawl is directly linked to disinvestment in urban cores.
America Needs More Sprawl to Fix Its Housing Crisis
The word has become an epithet for garish, reckless growth — but to fix the housing crisis, the country needs more of it.

Didn’t think I could hate the Dodgers anymore.

Yet here we are.

The party of deficit hawks is sure showing their ass right now.
Goodwill on Ivy City?!? Had no idea this was a thing. BIG NEWS for me.
On the bright side I was under general anesthesia for part of today. So for about 3 hours I was completely oblivious to the world and will never have to get those hours back.
Serious question: can someone explain to me like I’m a freshman in Politics 101 how a shutdown gives Trump more power?
Schumer: "For sure, the Republican bill is a terrible option. It is not a clean CR. It is deeply partisan. It doesn't address far too many of this country's needs. But I believe allowing Donald Trump to take even much more power via a government shutdown is a far worse option."
