I fast-charged the 2026 Nissan Leaf, and the experience was flawless: 10-80% in 32 min

Takeaway: Real-world, it’s road-trip quick, actually faster-charging than the Ariya.

More details to follow.

NEW from @andrewmoseman.bsky.social: The latest game-changing EV feature is charging speed, which "gets the EV driver back on the road quickly rather than forcing them to find new and creative ways to kill time until the battery is ready."

More below ⬇️
For EVs, Charging Speed Is the New Range
They may not refuel as quickly as gas cars, but it’s getting faster all the time to recharge an electric car.

Me: I can't believe we live in a world dominated by AI slop. How do people watch this dreck and retain any kind of self-respect? It hurts my soul that someone is making bank posting YouTube videos of DALL-E Pomeranians dancing to the K-Pop Demon Hunters so—

Remember when they used to cite energy independence as a reason to produce more fossil fuels? Renewables + storage is real, honest-to-god homegrown energy independence, made of electrons we're not going to put on a boat and ship overseas

It is a pretty shocking that near-complete energy independence through home solar+storage is inching towards viability. If you're an eccentric affluent person you could probably afford to pay $200k right now and live a normal middle class life off-grid
How big a solar battery do I need to store *all* my home's electricity?
I have a modest set of solar panels on an entirely ordinary house in suburban London. On average they generate about 3,800kWh per year. We also use about 3,800kWh of electricity each year. Obviously,...

1/x 🧵 🔌💡 #Greensky. Hey climate peeps! Here’s a local victory to celebrate, and some lessons from it. Last night, the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY, voted to overturn its 18-month moratorium (6 months, renewed twice) on grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Today in Texas solar provided more than one-third of the power for 8 straight hours, peaking over 29,000 megawatts at 1:25 for the 3rd highest total ever.

Last night, batteries set an all time record @ 7.3 gigawatts.

Despite an 80 GW peak, prices have been <2.5c/kWh all day.
