Ha. Drove me crazy when I first heard it on the SE album. Honestly such a joyous day when I figured out which song they’d sampled. It’s a really great album actually, if it’s time, but so much strong UK r n b pop around that period wasn’t there.

Yeah, he just immediately went off grid and threw himself into the scene that doesn’t sell anything. Still think he could have got in touch and told me at the time he was digging the record. Something to stick on the press release. No point telling me once you’ve got back from the dessert.

Gotta say The Quietus doing a hatchet piece on Richard Ashcroft seems like a waste of words and energy. Having said that I’m here doing a reply to your hatchet piece on the album artwork and I seemingly don’t have a problem with that. I’m now worried I’m coming across as a Verve fan. Happy weekend.
