Remote Viewer/Hood. All that kind of loser stuff during the 90/00s indie wars. City Centre Offices, Domino, Slumberland etc but now essentially just in the waiting room for God’s waiting room. https://anewlinerelated.bandcamp.com/album/crewe-away-ep

Honourable mention for Felt once I found out it was the past tense for feel and not the material. Not sure why that made such a big difference. But it did!

Dub Sex. Best band name ever.

Happy 71st birthday to Linval Thompson.

Linval is currently on tour in Europe and still recording new tunes. Here's a classic 12" of his from 1980, which he recorded at Channel One with the Roots Radics...

Now started factoring in early Saturday nights to be able to have a chance of feeling bright enough to appreciate Sunday. There’s almost no week left to enjoy anymore.

Ha. Drove me crazy when I first heard it on the SE album. Honestly such a joyous day when I figured out which song they’d sampled. It’s a really great album actually, if it’s time, but so much strong UK r n b pop around that period wasn’t there.

Only got the album on CD. And that’s somewhere in the loft probably.

Yeah, he just immediately went off grid and threw himself into the scene that doesn’t sell anything. Still think he could have got in touch and told me at the time he was digging the record. Something to stick on the press release. No point telling me once you’ve got back from the dessert.

The guitarist once got on touch with me on MySpace and said that when they split up he went into the dessert and walked around for hours listening to the 2nd remote viewer album.

Ha. I heard the single. Let’s leave it there!

I think a lot of people have a lot of time for the first couple of The Verve releases.

Year fair dos. I swerve that website because the blokes who run it seemed to be on some kind of eternal crowdfunder to avoid getting proper jobs but it felt like seeing the NME bothering to give a Sarah records release zero. It’s fine just to ignore something.

Think this hood with him about 2000 in Edinburgh. Weirdly didn’t equate his stuff with any kind of dub techno (or dub) at the time I just thought of it as in a sphere of its own. Such wonderful records.

Taking social media back to the OG days! (it’s such a perfect groove isn’t it?)

Gotta say The Quietus doing a hatchet piece on Richard Ashcroft seems like a waste of words and energy. Having said that I’m here doing a reply to your hatchet piece on the album artwork and I seemingly don’t have a problem with that. I’m now worried I’m coming across as a Verve fan. Happy weekend.

“What a waste of green beans”

Things that you’d never thought you’d say whilst you were moshing to Sonic Youth or something 30 years ago.
