Protocol Check-in (Fall 2025) | Bluesky
We last shared a protocol roadmap back in March 2025, and wow does time fly. If we're being honest, we haven't tied a bow on as many of these threads as we would've hoped. Oh time, strength, cash, and...

Nepal isn’t a terrorist country or something. The protest and violence was due to corruption and censoring peoples from their freedom of speech.

As a fellow Nepali, we all are welcoming. And Nepal is beautiful (except politician).

❤️🙏
*quickly crosses Nepal off the list of countries I should visit soon*
. @mzinshteyn.bsky.social Let’s talk! Wanted to raise on something serious

you know the journalism is dead when a pop culture news account reports the news more accurately than major news media
People in Nepal, including children, have been killed by police and security forces in Gen Z-led protests against government corruption.

Despite the purpose of the demonstrations, international media headlines have reduced them to merely protests over the country’s ongoing social media ban.

this isn't just about the social media bans. this is about the corruption that has led Nepal for decades. no matter how much the domestic and international media attempts to belittle our struggles, we will fight back against corruption. jay Nepal 🇳🇵

hey Brian.. anku from deso here. Wanted to talk with you
Tiktok has removed more than 70,000 videos already and suppressing the voices.

The need of decentralized social media is more than ever. It’s just a matter of time when people realize about hosting their own PDS and switch between different social apps even one gets banned. Protocol >>>> App.
Spoke something here regarding protest. Previously I said about Bluesky can register social media on Nepal to get exposure but I found the reason on why government is doing such. It’s a big censorship agenda who talks against the government and their kids too.

More in thread 🧵
Can connect you with someone in protest. DM :)
Graysky, Spark, Dragonfly (for iPad), Skeets, deck.blue etc etc. can find tons of alternative clients for bluesky
deck.blue
Get the most out of Bluesky with a multi-column layout
deck.blue
Will be safe even if bluesky gets banned. There are 10s of apps built on top of bluesky 🫡
must be stressful for tool calling and the model for such a brief edit
Nepal government is banning all social media apps today in Nepal. The best thing Bluesky can do is formally register in Nepal which allows exposure + a door of being a registered social media from Nepal.

This could be one of the good play if done by Bluesky.. cc @jay.bsky.team @rose.bsky.team :)
BIG-MARKS. I mean BOOKMARKS
We've also included some performance improvements in this release to make the experience in the app a bit smoother.

We've got another release coming soon with some big stuff! Stay tuned 🦋
In-line translation will be good as compared to routing for Google translation
Is it? Might be misleading to just reply with this emoji lol.. hope I’m right haha

Bipin Joshi.

He’s not Israeli. He’s not Jewish. He’s not an IDF soldier - for all you haters out there.

He’s a Nepalese agriculture student and he’s been held as hostage in Gaza for almost 2 years.

Save Bipin.

Save the hostages. 🎗️

My "Introduction to #ATProto" blog post that I've been working on for some time is ready 🙂 It goes through things like records, lexicons, DIDs, then PDS/AppView etc. and how it all works together. Let me know if anything is wrong!

More parts later, with the Fedi comparisons & misconceptions etc.
