Do you all have any resources/sites to find artists for these purposes these days?

I'd also like to hire those most in need of work.

Very true, folks still think accessibility is at odds with aesthetics, which we know isn't true but it is what it is.

I get that feeling too, I think a lot of hesitancy comes from people (especially now) feeling the pressure to churn out slop as quick as possible to keep their jobs.

Accessibility is popular, it's rare I meet anyone who thinks it doesn't matter.

Usually it's the systemic failures that make us de-prioritize it, things like perceived tight timelines, low budgets, lack of resources.

Regardless, the future world is accessible. There's too many of us that want it

I think the long term viability of Bluesky hinges on keeping the communities that drive this engagement platform safe, heard, and respected.

People LEAVE X and Meta for Bluesky because they want perspectives like Link's.

I will leave any platform that makes the same mistakes as the others

Link (among many notable creators) have drawn people TO Bluesky.

To remove them for (what I understand to be) valid criticism makes Bluesky look like it might follow X into silencing marginalized communities

It's a bad look given that they helped made Bluesky successful in the first place

Given that I have not been as active, I did not see that Link's account seems to have been banned on the primary server, among other prominent accounts.

Bluesky needs to be the antithesis of X and Meta. To do that it has to genuinely engage and support the communities that drive it's success.

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

That's not something I'm ashamed of, but it's not needed and it adds noise for me

Two weeks of not having social media on mobile devices has led to significant decreases in stress, while still being aware of current news.

So that change is going to be permanent.

That means I'm posting less now, and will probably stick primarily to posting about design and accessibility.

@theverge.com has "Notepad" for subscribers and they have been doing a lot of in-depth reporting on Microsoft and what's going on internally.

As an employee, the Verge is actually explaining what is going on in a way makes more sense than the vague marketing heavy announcements from leadership

It's worth noting that @404media.co has been the best at reporting the actual threat currently occurring related to tech and surveillance from the United States federal government.

You should be reading their work if you have any worries about surveillance and technology used against people.
