Serious Q: anyone else detest BlueSky’s habit of automatically jumping to the most recent post instead of keeping your place in your timeline?
So either you miss everything or you have to scroll back to find your place - as more ppl join, that becomes ever more impractical.

Only thing I don’t like.

What did the first farmers eat? #NationalFoodDay

Traditionally, 8 'founder crops' are thought to have been initial staples, but archaeobotanical remains suggest a much more diverse diet combining farmed and gathered resources.

It's wonderful to see Tipperary ranked fifth in Lonely Planet's Top 25 Places to Visit in 2026 list!

As we're based in Clonmel, I have to admit to a bit of bias, but the Premier County has so much to offer.

Here are just a few of my recommendations to consider for your trip to Tipp!

To ease you into the weekend, here's a lovely film by Guy Schofield, one of two winners of this year's President’s Award.

The film is about an interactive mural commissioned by York Museums Trust for the exhibition Star Carr: Life After The Ice.

Enjoy! 😊

Roman water spout in the shape of a wolf's head.

Beautifully detailed and full of character it looks like a good boy proudly fetching the paper! 🐾 ❤️

My dad was a huge scifi reader & got me hooked as a kid, also a keen follower of the moon landings, Patrick Moore et al. He used to say, if there IS anybody out there watching - we won’t be allowed out of this solar system. They’ll all be saying "Nuh uh. Not in MY back yard!"

Oh, good! (Looking forward to the wise ass comments… 😉)

Nothing like a hot toddy or three to sort out a miserable cold. 👍👍

My grandmother was one of twelve children. Nine of her siblings died before they reached adulthood. To someone of her generation, this was in no way unusual.
You'll never guess who opened the first children's hospital in France: Napoleon in 1802. While I strongly condemn Rob Schneider's false statements on children's health, it is cool that his lies pointed me to a fascinating truth: Napoleon opened the world's first children's hospital.
Someone was enjoying the sun earlier - did you ever see such a rascally look?!

And this morning the Shed is a racing trolley, made from scraps of wood and wire; with wheels salvaged from an old pram, and flames drawn on with crayon…

There is a moment at this time of year when the word ‘apricity’ really comes into view. For those who don’t know it, it was recorded only once, in 1623, before slipping out of view. Apricity is the warmth of the sun on a chilly day.

Luckily for me she doesn’t have opposable thumbs…! 🤣

I hate these bloody otc meds that are basically drug cocktails - if I want a decongestant, give me a bloody decongestant without anything else thrown in for fun. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Reckon that should be good for a fair few filial favours. 👍😉👍 *guilt*
Sending virtual chicken soup!

Been severely under the whether the last day or two also, hence the relative lack of posts. Blech.

Naps. Naps are powerful medicine.
Copper nipples…! 🤣🤣🤣

A marvellous painted terracotta sima with a lion head waterspout. A sima was a roof element that functioned as a gutter.

Found in Delphi, #Greece, dating late 5th century BC.
