WILD story. A DHS officer shot at a man he thought was fleeing (a judge dismissed all charges). Bullets went into the driver's side window, through his jacket collar, and into the empty passenger seat. An MPD cop on the scene says he was ordered not to put it in the police report.

A D.C. task force shot at a driver. It’s not in the police report.

Neither D.C. police nor the Department of Homeland Security have explained why the Homeland Security agent fired his weapon.

Last week, I wrote about Doublespeed, essentially a click farm that sells “synthetic influencers” to astroturf whatever product or service you want across social media, despite it being a clear violation of every social media platform's policy on inauthentic behavior. First Voyage: A wellness app that gives you AI “mythological pets that turn wellness into play.”
Axon Capital: billed as “DeepMind for Finance,” Axon says it has “pioneered brain-inspired, low-latency AI for financial markets.”

Gosh, it all seems so difficult, as if writers needed it to be any harder earning a living from their words. I almost long for the days when wealthy patrons sponsored writers and artists (or Ireland where they're experimenting with a minimum basic income for creators.) Good luck!
