Long story short:
I got sick and slept through #PortfolioDay

You'll all just have to put up with me making a #PornfolioDay post, instead.
So sorry.
Rowan and Carver in a shower. Even a seemingly Perfect Couple has their issues to work through. Colby and Milo missed the bed, but I don't think either of them really noticed. Lucas is starting to get the hang of being Blaine's Keyholder. Dr. Conrad Killian Ryder is explaining to his new assistant, Mr. Peregrine Toppin, what's expected of them. It's a lesson on the importance of honoring local customs.

When I try to imply that something is shiny and metallic, I usually paint a little over the lines with the highlight color (or just white) to make a little "glare" to obscure the edges in a spot or two.
You made it look shiny with just good color choices, not by using any tricks I'm familiar with.
artistric.bsky.social
LOL, when I drew it I was just thinking that people would either shade in that spot, like an "Innie" belly button, or maybe do a little highlight on it to make an "Outie." It never occurred to me that it might be considered a separate object. But I love how you did it! 😅
artistric.bsky.social
Usually I see people saying "We need an Edit Button!" and I shrug. Just Delete it and repost. No Big Deal.
But, right this moment, I get it.

I said "becomes common stereotypes" when I SHOULD have said "becomes the common narrative".
Clearly all my opinions should now be considered Null & Void.🤦‍♂️

Only news of the WORST abuses make it to the public conscience. Then THAT becomes common stereotypes that ALL porn is associated with.

Written and Artistic depictions of porn produce no new victims of abuse in the creation of them. But they share the same social burden.

OHMYGOSH! I JUST noticed!
Is that a little gemstone in his bellybutton? I LOVE that. 😍

That's all creator-side.
Being a consumer has no negative side effects on its' own. It's perfectly normal.

Just, if you become aware a studio has engaged in questionable conduct (not just "sex is shameful" - that's not questionable, just wrong), maybe don't financially support that studio anymore.🤷‍♂️
artistric.bsky.social
Also; Fetish Porn is Fantasy. (Most porn is, really. They're "acting.")
But the funny thing is that studios that engage with Fetish Porn tend to have stricter safety protocols than "vanilla" studios.
Don't get me wrong, there are still bts issues, but fewer than "mainstream" porn studios engage in.

That said:
Yes, there ARE problematic aspects of the pornographic film industry. People act in bad faith, there's exploitation of others, things like excessive illicit drug use are fairly common, etc...

But the "Sex is Shameful" attitude pushes these talking points out of the public dialogue.
artistric.bsky.social
Full honesty upfront:
I only read a little over half of the report.

Every statement it was making I was like "Yup. Knew that." "Yeah. That's just an obvious fact." "This is common knowledge." "Uh-huh... Been aware of that for YEARS."
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[/Looks at the hand holding the tie and takes notes.] 📝
[Looks at the rest of the image] Oh! Oh yeah! Yeah, that's good, too. 😳

Sex is natural.
The desire for sex is natural.
Most people are naturally inclined to seek sexual gratification.
Porn can help alleviate that urge.

Indoctrinating people into the puritanical belief that "sex is shameful" causes distress and can lead to unacceptable behaviors.
Not engaging with Porn.

Guys. Guys! GUYS!!
...Click through and ❤️ the original!
I mean, I love that you all are Liking these, but you GOTTA give those Likes to the colorists, too.

I'm not trying to be all "Arrrgh! New technology! [/shake-fist] It's ruining my preconceived expectations of social media! Arrrgh!"
It IS going to take time for me to adjust and not think "This is weird, compared to what I'm used to" though. 😅

I was on DA a while back, too, but even then people would follow their Favorites, so it was mostly the same ones who'd come back and comment on my new stuff.

I really think it's the Feeds, here. People can subscribe to one I've been added to, and see my posts without having to Follow me directly. 🤷‍♂️
artistric.bsky.social
I mean, my first "OMG, wouldn't that be funny?!?" instinct is to hook him up with MY Rafa. But yours' is a "Modern World Magical Cleric" and mine is "Cyberpunk Future," so there's logistical issues my brain needs to work out. 🤣

You really only need the last four digits of their SSN. 🤣

Another one showed up!
I'm loving how everyone is making different coloring choices and they all look incredible!!

He's beautiful!

And you know how some artists have a quirk where they fixate on one thing in an image?
I'm getting that from how you colored the sword blade.
The way you made it Shiny without overwhelming it with extra glowy bits or special effects is fantastic! 😁
artistric.bsky.social
Ah, okay. Yeah, that's basically just like a Feed, but more official.
artistric.bsky.social
Okay, yeah, THAT makes sense. I understand not wanting to fill space with Too Much Stuff™. Especially if you follow Feeds that congregate art for you.

Just... drive-by Comments from non-Followers "feel weird," you know?
artistric.bsky.social
Yeah, that was a risk. And "Popular with Friends" here runs the same risk.
But, like... Posting a comment runs not just the same risk, but, like, a ❤️ can be waved away as 'they had nice linework" or "they chose nice colors." But "I love your art!" means "I love your art." AND takes more effort. 🤷‍♂️
artistric.bsky.social
😁 Pretty standard, really.

Don't forget Casual Hobbies (sports they watch, things they collect...), Personal Hobbies (sports they play, things they make...), Pop Culture They Pay Attention To (if any), Close Friends, Medical Issues, Neighborhood Relationships, and What They Studied In School. 😘

And I know that by subscribing to the right Feeds, people can regularly see my posts without Following me directly.

But I get those comments and DMs just often enough that I'm like "...DID you love it? Comments takes EFFORT. The Follow button is just one click. What's happening here? 🤔"
