Nata elaborates repeatedly what he means. He feels kinship with Arkveld because of the sensation of being shackled to duty and tradition and not realizing there’s an entire world of new experiences beyond the veil of what arbitrarily keeps him locked to the duty imposed by long-dead people.

I’m going to hold your hand when I say this to you… The protagonist of Monster Hunter Wilds is not the hunter… It is NATA! That’s right you are there guardian throughout his story that is all… This is not your story. you are not the main character. He is a traumatized kid & his actions make sense.
